I have read several of Carol Delmornay's books that contain a dark element but nothing prepared me for the evil in Rozalynne McLaughlan, aka Mistress Hellion. Human nature being what it is, I could relate to her feelings of devastating loss, even her desire for a justice she felt deserved. At the same time, I started having empathy for Bryce Ronald Caldwell. There are so many emotions being played out in this storyline and all of them come to light as a reader. If this is just the beginning of a series, I can't imagine what the remainder of the books will entail. Perhaps the other members of the Association. This is definitely one I will follow closely and recommend wholeheartedly. I was fortunate to be given a copy of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.
