EXCERPT ...
When the elevator doors closed taking Angelica back down to the parking garage, I strode back to my office, and picked up my cell phone from on the top of my desk. A brief smile graced my lips when I saw the text message from her still opened up and in plain sight on my phone, before I closed the message app, and hit speed dial. My call was answered within three rings.
“Simon, Angelica’s on her way down. Can you see she reaches her car safely, please?” I heard an amount of humor in his voice when he replied.
“Sure thing, Levi---her pigtails looked kinda cute.”
“Hmm---I’ll be another hour, or so.” He should count himself lucky he’s a friend. “And don’t mention one fucking word to Angelica about her pigtails,” I growled, and hung up on him when he started chuckling.
Fuck. She was certainly full of surprises. When I’d first received that text from her, I’d almost lost my train of thought half way through my conversation with Carlos, and Fletcher.
She wanted to role play, and she’d initiated it. The level of ebullient passion coursing through my veins increased ten-fold, with adrenaline surging through me like a tidal wave when I looked up and saw her standing so hesitant, and unsure of herself on the other side of my desk. I may have to forge ahead with my schedule sooner than I contemplated. My cock began to thicken again recalling the image of her standing there in that sexy-as-fuck school girl outfit.
With a frown marring my forehead, I realized I’d have to handle her with kid gloves. The hurt that I saw in her eyes after I finished dishing out the naughty student punishment, had brought me back down to earth rapidly. She’s not ready---Yet. Behind the wry smile on my face was the determination to eventually have her completely in my world. It will be my biggest challenge to date given her experience at the hands of Buchanan. But challenge was my middle name, and I was more than up for it. Besides, the rewards I’d receive would greatly outweigh the time, and effort of me having to be patient, and wait.

“How’d you’re meeting with Jacqueline pan out?” Simon wisely kept the conversation away from Angelica’s sexy little impromptu visit while we exited the parking garage, and pulled out into the flowing traffic. The yellow, A4 envelope containing Jacqueline’s detailed statement was on my desk back in my apartment.
It had taken a lot of fast-talking on my part to convince Jacqueline to divulge all the details of that night, and to swear a statement, but she’d eventually---although hesitantly---agreed to do one. Of course, the offer of having all of their wedding expenses taken care of may have had something to do with her final consent.
What I wasn’t expecting was for her to show up to our predetermined meeting with her fiancé in tow, but after speaking with them both at great length, I was expressly glad she had. I discovered Jacqueline had been candid with him regarding her past---not to the extent of the injuries she had suffered at the hands of Buchanan, or even his name, but he knew enough of the details about the situation surrounding the event, to know she had suffered a great deal.
She informed me she felt she had to, after he’d asked her to marry him. Jacqueline conveyed she didn’t want their marriage to commence with any sordid little secrets. And the only reason she agreed to meet with me, was the help I’d initially extended to her in dealing with her physical healing, and the eventual relocation she felt she needed to be free, and clear from Buchanan.
“She’s sworn a detailed statement.”
“She has?” Simon seemed surprised.
“After a lot of convincing. Now all I have to do is convince Angelica to take this further.”
“You think you can?” After the reaction I witnessed the first time I’d broached the subject with her, I knew it was going to be an uphill battle to persuade her to proceed with that course of action, but now that I have further evidence, it was do-able. Maybe.
Angelica can be as stubborn as a damned mule when she wanted to be. I’d seen the same sort of fear in Jacqueline’s eyes that night all those years ago after Buchanan’s unhinged flip out, as I’d seen in Angelica’s, but not to the same extent.
Jacqueline was only Buchanan’s plaything for the night when he felt the urge to visit Seduction. Angelica had been in a relationship with him. And that thought brought my blood to boiling point every single time it entered my head.
“I may have my work cut out for me with that,” I admitted.
