Hello from the Goldfields

As I was up around 4am this morning, hubby and I decided to walk up the hill across the road from our house - it's a tourist attraction for visitors to our rural town - usually caravaners on their way to the city, or on their way to the border into another state. But, because it was dark, we had to wait for the first light of the day so we could see, for one, and to make sure nothing was going to come jumping or scuttling out of the bush on the way up! I've seen lots of rabbits, some echidna waddling across, and have had 2 kangaroos jump out right in front of me when I used to walk up the hill every morning.
I did that for years, until 4 discs in my lower back herniated, and sciatica down my right leg put an immediate stop to it. For the past nine/ten months. Couldn't do anything at all - not even roll over in bed, for quite a few months. Just trying to put on a pair of socks, or a pair of pants, was a mission. I used to be so active - walk up and down the hill, twice, every day, come rain, hail or shine, walk for about 6 kilometres around our half of town with hubby, then ride a bike for 11 kilometres to the shop in the other part of town. We were so fit.
Now? Pft. Let me just say it took nine/ten months to end up with the current weight I am now, so it's going to take nine months to get it off, again. The hill across the road is no smooth walk. It's steep, and winds up and down all the way to the top. It works just about every muscle in your body, and is great cardio! My aim is to lose these extra kilo's by my birthday in November. I don't even want to go into how old I will be. It's time to begin counting backwards!
Now that I've bored you to death, I'll post the collage of this morning's pre-sunrise photos with you all.
I hope you're all safe and well.
