Good morning from the Goldfields of Western Australia

Good morning from the beautiful Goldfields of Western Australia.

Winter has arrived! So far, since the 31st May (officially, our winter begins on the 1st of June), we've had rain, dense fog, and some thunder, and it's been really cold! There have been a few days that haven't got over 13 degrees (c), and the nights are pretty much freezing - had a 1.3 degree (c) night the other night - it was only 3 or something this morning. It's definitely beanie, glove, scarf, and jacket weather. We're expecting days of rain to begin tomorrow. Glad we live in the East part of town - lots of hills, no chance for water to gather and fill up to flood - the West part of town is flat and has been known to flood.

Had to go and collect some firewood over the weekend. We already have a heap of wood cut up, but we needed some all-night burners - big logs, so the house stays warm during the night (despite the fact that there are flannelette sheets, 2 blankets, and a feather doona on the bed). But, during this process, hubby has become the walking wounded. Unloading the trunks (we cut them into logs once back home), the second-last one, hubby dropped - straight down on his foot - pretty sure he broke or fractured some bones in his foot - all three toes between the big toe and the little toe, with the top of his foot swollen. Taking his shoe off was a little difficult. So, he rested - then we had to cut the trunks into logs that will fit in the slow combustion fireplace the following morning. What happened? Hubby drops a log down on his other foot! Smashed his big toe which immediately turned purple, around the whole thing. Thank God it's all done now and he can rest both feet for a while.

Went up the hill this morning- that's still a hard slog - early enough to wait for the sun to make an appearance above the horizon. Pre-sunrise was beautiful, as you'll see from the photos that will be posted with this.

Time has been taken up with taking new photos of the jewellery that is available through the website - handmadejewellery.net.au - thought they needed to be a whole lot nicer than the ones that are currently on the site. So far, items up to 00144 have been done - so there are a lot more to take and upload. One will be attached here - let me know what you think.

Aside from that, learning new techniques both with the jewellery, and with photoshop, has taken up a lot of time. Have decided to shelve the learning for a while to get some writing done. Haven't done a great deal of that lately. Feels good to finally get some words down.

Hope everyone has a wonderful morning, afternoon, evening or night. That should cover just about everybody. Stay safe and well.
