Review for Honey & Silk by Mr. Dela Rosa
3.5 stars rounded up to 4
This Aussie author is new to me. After reading the blurb and the ‘Look Inside’ percentage available, I decided to one-click. I read this book about 2 weeks ago, and have been pondering how to write a review and what rating to give it.
After breaking up with his fiancé 3 years ago, John Wilshire has been in a drought. The dating merry-go-round didn’t hold too much promise, so he decides to try his luck with Honey & Silk Escort Service. He books Savannah for the night, for a hefty price tag.
I don’t want to give too much of the story away, so I won’t say any more about it. The story line, I thought, was quite good. It is a lot shorter than I normally read, and can be read in one sitting. In my opinion the two main characters (John and Savannah) could have been developed further. There is a dark, action-packed twist in the story that I didn’t see coming, though, so that was a good thing. It kept my attention.
The book can do with some editing and formatting, hence my rating. I know how hard it is to edit and format your own work, but even just a proof-reader would have been able to pick up some of the mistakes I found whilst reading. If that sort thing doesn’t bother you, this is an enjoyable, quick read. I hope Mr. Dela Rosa continues to publish more of his work.
