When I swung both of my legs out, he tightened his grip and raised his hand, assisting me out of the car. His strong grip kept an inflexible hold on my hand while he slowly, but deliberately, folded my arm around behind my back, our joined hands coming to rest in the small of my back. Taking one step, he moved in to press his powerful frame along the length of my body. My shoulders pushed hard up against the roof of the car when he leaned into me, the strength and tensile beauty of his exquisite musculature consuming me, his warmth engulfing me. The opened passenger side door was offering protection from the slight breeze that was blowing in off the still body of water behind the restaurant, but I really wished it wasn’t. My inner temperature was reaching boiling point, and I yearned for the breeze to help cool me down before I imploded.
Jaxon raised his free hand and used one fingertip beneath my chin to tilt my head up until my eyes locked onto his. He lowered his head, his lips just a hairs-breadth away from my mouth. “I’ve been wanting to do this since I turned around and saw you standing in Lexi’s kitchen.” He confessed, his heated breath falling enticingly across my lips. The tip of my tongue darted out to moisten along their parched surface, eagerly anticipating the seal of his mouth taking control of them.
